Welcome to black.box(.sk), the prime rib of e-mags.
Before going into more details, and let me say there are quite a few,
I would like to explain why I began black.box.
First, let me introduce myself. People call me bz -- short for BinaryZer0.
I live in a mid-western-hemispheric country by the name of America. Originally,
although, I am from Moldova, a former republic of the USSR.
Around late March 1999, my good friend |cube| (who lives in Slovakia and is owner
of *.box.sk sites) asked me whether I wanted to participate in or begin a project.
For the first part of late March, I helped out with writing tips and news for
eye.box.sk, the graphics-related section of box.sk. A few months later, during
the latter part of May, I began writing for the news section on linux.box.sk,
neworder.box.sk, and having access to but not writing for gameguru.box.sk.
During late, late May, |cube| asked me whether I wanted to start my own project,
as he would be open for ideas. So finally, after a few days, I decided that an
e-mag/newsletter type of deal would be nice.
So here it is.
Black.box electronic magazine will be focusing on wide ranges of subjects.
Anything from security to system penetration, and what ever else one of
us decides to write about. What is truley neat about this e-mag is that
aside from stupid non-sense text, the content will also feature source
code written by us or anyone else who is willing to send some in. Also,
if you want to write something you can e-mail articles@box.sk about the
subject of your article, then if we like the summary, send it over and we
will read it. It'll go up with credit dedicated to you -- if it is worthy.
Anyways, the Members list looks something like this:
BinaryZer0 -- Editor in Chief
case -- Editor
zaire -- Editor
|cube| -- Writer
Alric -- Writer
nawk -- Writer
Jack -- Writer
There are also others that at may only write one or two articles for this issue.
Also, the Members list is subject to change : ) heh.
For this issue we will have an exploit written in shell script to exploit red hat 5.2
into giving a rootshell. And then of course other neat articles about what ever.
At times we will be offering many different services. For example free shell accounts
with no limits on accessing certain things you can't normally access with other
free-shell-account services. There is also a project that I am currently thinking
of setting up, but because I do not know whether it will come through, I don't want
to say anything about it. I will just say it would be very useful.
Have fun.
