Using encryption can land you time in the Big House BinaryZer0 binaryzer0@box.sk crypto, encryption, jail, london, england, hackers, crackers, code, bull shit, shit Encryption? Hah! There is no such thing in Britain now, and maybe other places soon as well. What am I talking about? I will explain: The British-proposed Electronic Communications Bill. The Bill states that if you are a suspect in a crime, or something of the like, and officials ask for your private key to decode the code (unencrypt), and you refuse to hand it over, you can go to jail for two years. And, if you tip off the person who received the encrypted message, you can go to jail up to 5 years. I don't see why this can't happen elsewhere in the world. In fact, it will probably soon be showing up in other countries, and even more harsh than that. It is time we woke up. It is time we looked at what's going on. If we, the Electronic community, don't stand up and do something about this now, sooner or later it will catch up with us as it so suddenly did in Britain. If you live in America, don't think it can't happen to you. NSA has already asked that there be more Internet Security "Response" teams, and there are bills on encryption being passed almost weekly. It is not just about being able to use cryptography, it is about the government slowly and secretly trying to take away our First Amendment. So stand up, and do something about this Bull Shit. Let people know about it. Let the *normal* community know about this. About how this will some day lead to socialism if we let the government make laws to further enprison ourselves and our freedom. Because slowly, but surely, that is what's happening. Make flyers, talk to people, make it known. MAKE IT KNOWN!
