Subject: Listserv-Eudora-EasyView-FAQ.txt

Dear Digest readers and readers of the archive,
Sorry for the repost, but there was a slight misunderstanding of my
previous post.
So here is a slightly revised edition that should clear up that
misunderstanding.
For anyone having trouble using EasyView as a means of reading the Listserv
of comp.sys.mac.digest this FAQ is for you.

A. Software requirements:

Eudora 1.5.3 or Eudora 1.5.4.
EasyView 2.6.1 (shareware)
PPP or SLIP connection

B. Assuming you are already getting the archive by e-mail from one of the
listservs that distributes it you will want to do to do the following -
    1. In the Finder - Be sure that the document with the "V" icon and name
of "Info-Mac Digest"
resides in the same folder as "EasyView" application. You may
have to move it out of the
        "Info-Mac Digest folder".
    2. In Eudora - Apple key-mouse click (hit both at the same time while
you point at the item you want to select. This is the same as the Finder
views) every Digest of the same #
         i.e. Info-Mac Digest V14 #41 1/2
               Info-Mac Digest V14 #41 2/2
are both of the same number and appear in the subject field
of your Eudora "In" mailbox
              window.
DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ANY ITEM IN THE INBOX - this won't do you any
good!
    3. From the File menu select "Save As" and change your active folder
to the same one that
"EasyView" and "Info-Mac Digest" are located in.
     4. Now look at the bottom of the "Save As" dialog box, and check to
see what is the status of
both "Guess Paragraphs and Include Headers". You will either
notice that they both have "x"
in boxes next to them or just a plain square boxes next to them.
If just the plain square
boxes are next to them, that means both of these settings are off.
That is the way you
want them to be. If an X is in any of the boxes, click on the box
to turn it off. Now you are
ready to save the file by clicking the save box.

If you don't follow this four step process, you will likely have problems
reading the digest once in EasyView.

Standard Disclaimers apply: Other methods, such as other e-mail programs
may also work, though I haven't tried these yet.

Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
ABRODY@access.digex.net
