Some of those .exe files are actually self extracting .zip archives, and
Stuffit Expander 5.5 might be able to expand them. (It doesn't always work,
but most of the time it does.)

Subject: [*] ClipClap-General purpose text input utility+internet research helper

ClipClap is an integrated text input/internet research helper with
the following features:
1.Provide a hybrid text/internet location web clipping that works with your
favourite web browser, so that you can save text clippings from your
browser for instant access while at the same time remembers the url so
that you can instantly visit the web page the clipping originates from.
2.A convienent text clipping browser that allows quick viewing of text
clipping and text files, and instantly insert the text or url into the word
processing document you are working on.
3.Set up a group of frequently used prefix/postfix combos that is
automatically attached to the clipping in use, so you don't have to type
them over and over again.
4.It can browse text clippings in multiple text style of your choice. You
will never again be caught with text clipping with fonts too small for
comfortable viewing.
5.Address the problem where non-english clipping does not always show
up correctly on a system with language kits.
6.Flexible archiving into a single text file.

If you do any typing at all on a Mac and/or do any research on the
internet, ClipClap will save you hours of frustration dealing with
cryptic bookmarks, cumbersome copy and past between applications.

I'm helping out a friend whose iMac went south (software). I'm
reinitializing etc.
While I'm at it, she's asked me to do a memory upgrade.
I've looked at the back/removed the plastic housing and the two upper anchor
screws but the gutz won't come out. Is there more to do or do I just have to
be more aggressive and yank the sucker?
It's a cute little thing, so I don't want to hurt it. Any help will be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles Cusumano <macman@kyol.net>

There are several different models of iMac, each comes apart differently.
In the Apple Repair World these models are known as Revisions and are
documented only to authorized repair centers, there is no way you can tell
what Rev you have by looking at a name plate....!

I strongly suggest that you not try to remove the gutz, pay a pro to do it
for you -- RAM installation takes 15 minutes, tops, so take the "cute little
thing" to an authorized Apple Repair shop and pay no more than 1/4 of their
hourly rate to have it done.

All Apple service manuals are available in PDF format at the Apple web site
in the support area. This will tell you exactly how to do it.

Well, most of them are viruses anyway, which attach themselves to
outgoing email messages on Windows computers.
Assuming they're not, you can try dropping the file on StuffIt Expander.
Some of these files are self-expanding archives, and if there are just data
files in them, you can use those as you would a native Mac file.
Or you could get one of the IBM-PC emulators for your Mac.

Subject: Iomega Extension Trouble on iMac

Using USB Iomega 250 on an iMac Graphite, the start-up icon is marked with
a red cross during extension start-up. The drive, however, is working as
normal and is recognised as connected on systm profile.

Any solutions to the start-up recognition?

Also, would this be related to the system freezing immediately after
start-up?

Thanks in advance
